Who is WIIS-HoA?
WIIS-HoA is a non-governmental organization based in kenya. WIIS-HoA works towards building peace and promoting human security in the Horn of Africa by advancing gender equity in peace building and promotion of security.
Our vision is a Horn of Africa region where peace, security, and human rights are prioritized and strengthened through the active involvement of women. We aspire to be a driving force in shaping a future where women leaders are at the forefront of efforts to resolve conflicts, build sustainable peace, and promote human security. WIIS-HoA envisions a society where gender equality is not only a recognized principle but also a lived reality.
WIIS-HoA is dedicated to advancing peace, security, and human rights in the Horn of Africa region by empowering women to assume leadership roles, fostering their professional development, and advocating for human security approaches. Our mission is to actively promote the meaningful participation of women in all aspects of peace building, peace making, and peace strategies.

SISTERS WITHOUT BORDERS (SWB)
Sisters Without Borders (SWB) is a network of women leaders from different organizations championing peace and security in their communities and country.
WOMEN IN SECURITY CONFERENCE
WIIS-HoA supported by Special Operations Command Africa (SOCAFRICA) and Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) held the first Women in Security Conference.
AMANI MTAANI
The program organized and led by WIIS-HoA used football as a means of disseminating peace information to other community members from diverse locations.
BRACE
With the changes in trends, WIIS-HoA with the support from the United States Embassy in Kenya implemented a project “Building Resilience of Active Communities of Empowered Women.

WIIS Talks is a series of engaging forums to empower youth in the Horn of Africa by providing a platform for dialogue and learning on a range of topics.
